Quality produces high response rates
It is important to achieve a high response rate (around 60%) to ensure your
results are reliable.
In the 2003 NHS PCT Patient Survey PatientDynamics
achieved an overall response rate 6% higher than the national average and
consistently higher than other patient survey organisations. We achieved this
by:

providing a Media Pack to publicise the survey

including help in 5 different languages

using top quality materials to encourage patient participation

providing on-line completion of questionnaires where possible

monitoring response rates and scheduling reminder mailings

adding an incentive where necessary to boost response rate

including a FREEPHONE help line for assistance

offering an on line translation service
Half of the top 50 Trusts achieving the highest response rates were clients of
PatientDynamics.
