It is important to achieve a high response rate (around 60%) to ensure your results are reliable.

In the 2003 NHS PCT Patient Survey PatientDynamics achieved an overall response rate 6% higher than the national average and consistently higher than other patient survey organisations. We achieved this by:

  • providing a Media Pack to publicise the survey
  • including help in 5 different languages
  • using top quality materials to encourage patient participation
  • providing on-line completion of questionnaires where possible
  • monitoring response rates and scheduling reminder mailings
  • adding an incentive where necessary to boost response rate
  • including a FREEPHONE help line for assistance
  • offering an on line translation service

Half of the top 50 Trusts achieving the highest response rates were clients of PatientDynamics.
